Since August 6, 1948, ORNL Federal Credit Union (ORNL FCU) has been a trusted financial cooperative for its members and the East Tennessee community. To celebrate our 75th anniversary, we recently offered members the opportunity to nominate worthy non-profit organizations to receive a grant up to $75,000.
When ORNL FCU’s 75th anniversary community grant initiative was announced in late July, 17 grants totaling $350,000 were to be awarded: one (1) $75,000 award, two (2) $50,000 awards, four (4) $25,000 awards, and ten (10) $7,500 awards. The response to the two week campaign was overwhelming; members submitted over 1,100 nominations, representing over 540 organizations. After careful consideration and review of each nomination, ORNL FCU approved an additional $75,000 grant to be awarded, for a total of 18 award recipients and $425,000 in grant funding.
